Attention Members:

This is to notify you of a theft of part of a stamp collection from a
member of the British Columbia Philatelic Society. The theft apparently
occurred sometime in the morning on Wednesday, December 15, in the
Vancouver suburb of Coquitlam. Among the items taken were a collection
of Swiss mint and used stamps on Minkus pages. The used stamps were
nearly complete, missing only three stamps up to 1989. Mint stamps were
less well represented, but were nevertheless of considerable value. The
collection contained a few covers.

Also taken was stockbook of mint and used Swiss stamps, a stockbook full
of mint modern Canadian plate blocks, and a Darnell hingeless Canadian
mint collection for the years 1987 through 1995 in a hingeless Darnell
album.

The owner has contacted all of the major stamp dealers in Vancouver. He
would appreciate your help in publicizing his loss.

1. A near complete collection of Swiss used stamps on Minkus pages, from
1850 to 1989. This collection is only missing #'s 3, 5 and 11, and also
contains some mint stamps and covers.

2. A stockbook of Swiss stamps.

3. A mint Canadian collection in an Darnell hingeless album from 1987 to
1997, including many error stamps and the 1994 Christmas Carol
denomination errors.

4. Stockbooks of mint Canadian blocks, and Canadian revenue stamps

5. Canadian annual collections from 1977 to 1989

6. Canadian souvenir pack thematic collections from 1985 to 1996.

The police file number with the Coquitlam RCMP is 04-51807.

Attention Members:
The following four significant Confederate States of America items were
stolen by a well-organized scheme of credit card fraud. The items are
all easily identified, and images of the stolen items are available on
request. Please be on the lookout for them as they may be offered for
outright sale to a dealer or they may be consigned to an auction. The
credit card fraud originated in London, England so it is possible that
they might attempt to sell the material in either the London or possibly
the New York market.

Attention Members:

On November 22, 2004 a Scott #43 was sent to an incorrect address in Miami, Florida. It was sent via FedEx with a "Blue Signature Required "sticker on the box. FedEx left the package in front of the apartment because they said there was a release on file.

However, the FedEx driver returned and spoke with the occupant of the apartment and she said she does not have the package. The #43 was XF with a 2002 PFC. The net value is $4000. It is centered almost perfect left to right. It is centered a little bit low. Any help is appreciated.

INFORMATION
ALERT

Attention Members:

Classic Philatelics has sent the Association an alert of possible problems with
sending material via airmail registered mail to customers in Germany. They have experienced two losses in less than one year. Both were registered airmails to different addresses in Western Germany. The postal authorities could find no trace of their October loss and therefore only paid the indemnity value ($40.45). Their June loss is still under investigation.

Mel Feiner, Classic Philatelics, is interested to hear from other Members who may have experienced problems with mail to Germany.
